Im after 2 x used batteries and a charger for the Argus 4? any ideas?

Hi Ron,

Welcome to the forums

Are you after a charger, or a charging shoe ? The charger is a standard NiMH charger so anything that is around 1A and can do 6 cells will suffice. The difficult part is making connection and that needs the shoe, which is otherwise dumb.

These are still in production, at a price of course but not as much as AllBatteries want...

Batteries turn up on eBay now and again although they can be pretty ropey rebuilds which have been known to then get sent back to Argus as warranty claims !

Thanks for that info. when it turns on i get a frozen screen. (see pic attached) any ideas if its a quick fix?

Hi Ron,

I assume the time does count up and it is the thermal picture that is 'stuck'. Equally the 'about right' spot temperature is a good sign.

Does the camera making regular clicking noises from the shutter operation ? Should also get them at startup and turning off.
Can you see any hot objects moving about on the image ?

Answer those to eliminate a shutter problem. However a stuck-closed shutter would normally give a flat, grey, noisy image and a stuck-open gives a ghost image as the camera calibrates out the picture until it is moved.

Stuck shutter is a fairly easy fix depending on the exact model. It might just need a prod and then work for ages again.
