serial port speed (baud rate)

Post by stynx »

Hi again,

I have encountered a speed issue with the Argus 3.
It takes more than 5 minutes for a single image to download.
Is that normal?

I have tried the V3.0 software from this website.
It is much faster than the V4.3 I have on my CD.

There should not be a fundamental difference in the software, but you may have a Baud rate issue that fixed itself with the installation of v3.0

Pictures over serial were painfully slow at 9600 Baud.

I took a peak under the hood of the provided software on this site and can confirm that the default Baud rate for the serial communication is 115200, and the pictures are transferring for 5 to 10 seconds each.
I also tried to use a USB RS232 interface under windows 10 with limited success/I can command some features but the program crashes constantly/.
Can someone share a newer version /for example 4.3/.
Best regards.

The Fischer connectors are expensive, but the rest is easy with 3 wires and a 9 pin D.
You'd need a SE102A054 or similar (5 pin 102 series).

A link to the pinout for the serial cable
