Re: Inside the ARGUS Ni-Mh battery - X-Ray image
OK I have compressed the X-Ray images. Hopefully they have not lost too much detail

Inside the ARGUS Ni-Mh battery - X-Ray image
I have a collection of ARGUS 1 and 2 batteries including the ARGUS 2 Green ended Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries. I would like to rebuild the worn out Ni-Mh batteries but wanted to see what 'lives' inside before attempting disassembly. I was expecting similar to the Alkaline cells battery packs but I w...

Re: Rebuilding the battery packs
Fortunately Unitrode cover the issue of new batteries and user calibration in their BQ2010 use guide........ http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slua014 The stated procedure is to fully discharge the battery and then fully charge it. The next full discharge will synchronise the batteries to the BQ2010 and all...

Re: Rebuilding the battery packs
Many thanks for the info. I was going to discharge the cells on my battery analyser before connecting it to the PCB. I would then charge the ARGUS battery in its correct charger. Does this sound reasonable ? I do have 386, 486 and Pentium II laptops that have DOS on them so I could try the software ...

Re: Rebuilding the battery packs
Further to my last...... The BQ2010 battery 'gas gauge' chip can operate in absolute or relative capacity modes. In the ARGUS 4 it operates in Absolute mode so the capacity of the cells when new is programmed into it. Fortunately the capacity programming is via the states set up on some of the ICs p...

Re: Pan/chop mode switch - burning question
Thank you ! You have solved the 'mystery' for me.
I like the clever idea to settle the chopper wheel in the correct position.
Cheers

Re: Hello from Fraser, new forum member.
@K, Upgrading a FLIR E4 used to be quite easy with just the changing os some configuration settings in the Win CE software. Sadly FLIR have made the upgrade ever harder with each new firmware release. The latest firmware version 2.11 can be rolled back to version 2.3 which can still be upgraded. Sad...
